I am the woman I created Heartfelt Living for.

I grew up with a deep longing for belonging.

As a child growing up in foster care, I never really felt that I belonged anywhere, and my greatest dream was to create a family of my own.
I wanted a husband, children, animals, a house in the countryside with a big wooden table, a kitchen full of steaming pots, an open fire and a buzzing life.

And I believe that when we truly follow our heart’s deepest desires, life has a way of moving towards them. Obviously, not in a straight line.

Before I got what I wanted, I moved countries many times. I was broke. In some countries I was illegal. I fell in love with the wrong men and went through the messiness of life that we all do.

I went to university and studied Social Anthropology and Journalism, and later Human Rights Law. I wanted to contribute to a better and more just society and fight for minority rights.

But underneath that was also something else. I had survived a very difficult childhood. Now I needed to prove to the world that I could succeed. I discovered I was smart. I could win a debate. I could climb a mountain. And I received so much praise for how far I had come despite where I had started. For a while, that became an engine running on its own. Work hard. Achieve. Become someone. Be useful. Take responsibility. Eventually, that sense of responsibility became suffocating, and life began to feel more like a duty than a privilege.

Then I had my children.

I loved being their mother, and I poured myself into creating the beautiful home and sense of belonging I had always dreamed of. I gave up my aspirations in academia and politics and dedicated my whole heart to my family. From the outside, my life looked perfect. A successful husband, a beautiful house in the Alps, horses, sheep, a cat, a dog and three wonderful children. And there was so much about that life that I genuinely loved. But somewhere inside all that love and devotion, I stopped including myself.

I constantly put everyone else’s needs before my own. I read and studied when my children were sleeping. I made the house beautiful and cooked healthy homemade meals. I trained the dog, exercised the horses and planned a self-sufficient vegetable garden. There was always something or someone to take care of.

And my own needs became the last priority.

I wore whatever clothes were practical and quickest to reach. I was exhausted. I loved Flamenco dancing, but often I was too tired even to go to my lessons, let alone practise.

Little by little, my light began to fade.

I lost connection with my own desires, my sensuality and my life force. My relationship had become largely practical, and I felt increasingly alone with feelings and longings I didn’t know how to express.
I knew I couldn’t feel my spark anymore. But I didn’t know what to do about it. I didn’t even know what I was longing for.

Then, slowly, something inside of me began to wake up.

I began exploring women’s embodiment, yoga and Tantra. At first, even this happened secretly. I felt ashamed simply for having human desires and needs. Slowly, I began to understand that there was nothing shameful about them.

Through my teachers and the communities I found, I started changing my relationship with my body. Instead of constantly trying to fix it, criticise it or improve it, I began to feel it and listen to what it was communicating.

I learned how deeply emotional connection mattered to me before physical intimacy could feel meaningful. I learned how much time the female body can need to soften, trust and open. I discovered the enormous power of non-sexual touch and the deep relaxation of being safely held and allowed to surrender.

And slowly, I began to meet the woman inside me again.
I began connecting to my life force.
I began to feel alive.

I fell so deeply in love with what I was discovering that I wanted to learn everything I could. So I dedicated years of my life to studying yoga, Tantra, Ayurveda, coaching, somatics and embodiment. That journey has taken me around the world. I searched for the teachers I needed most. I studied with them, practised with them and grew with them. Some of what I learned became part of me. Some of it I left behind.

Because dogma has never been my thing.

I’d love for you to really feel the wind
in your face, dance in the rain, taste the salt
of your tears and feel that you are living
your life fully and alive.

That is why I created Heartfelt Living.

A space for us to be truly and fully who we are.

With lots of love ♡ Mimmi
